Sinn Féin's Environment spokesperson North Antrim MLA Daithí McKay, speaking after the launch of the publication 'Foundations for the Future' report said that the document contains wide ranging and radical recommendations which the Assembly and the Executive will want to carefully study. Now that the Assembly is re-established and the 26 County elections are over, we need to refocus and re-energise our efforts to promote the potential of all-Ireland structures, as set out in the Good Friday Agreement. Their potential should be utilised as a means of demonstrating to progressive unionists and others the benefits of an all-Ireland approach to social and economic development. Read full article

Speaking today Sinn Féin MEP Mary Lou McDonald welcomed the EU backed decision to reduce the cost of cross-border mobile phone calls. However Ms. McDonald said while this is a positive move it has not gone far enough. She said Sinn Féin wishes to see a single All-Ireland mobile phone tariff introduced to ensure that the border will no longer be a financial burden on mobile phone customers. Read full article
